Skullcap is a Native American plant whose dried leaves and stems are used as a medicinal herbal tea. This plant gets its name from the skull-shaped flowers it produces. Skullcap aka Glidweed, Mad-dog, can be used for insomnia, anxiety, strokes, fever, high cholesterol, “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis), rabies, epilepsy, nervous tension, allergies, skin infections or inflammation. Similar variations of this wonder plant can be found in Europe and Asia. This herb has been used for centuries in the Traditional Chinese or Indian Ayurvedic Diet because of its unique power to fight ailments.
