- Once the culture kit arrives, give the mycelium a few days to recover. Expose it to air so it can breathe. Then fold the bag back up as shown in illustration:
- Wait until you see small white protrusions on the substrate. Then it’s time to make cuts for optimal growth. Fold the included elastic band use. Place the culture set on a clean surface, preferably on a damp cloth on a plate. Make sure the environment in which you place the grow kit is free of drafts. If necessary, place the bag with holes over the grow kit to create a humid environment. To increase humidity, you can spray the inside of the bag wet. Make two cuts of about 5cm in the block, preferably on either side of the label and then diagonally upward. You can also choose to lay the block on its side and make the cuts at the top. This way, the wig mushrooms will grow at the top of the block rather than on the side.
- Provide a humidity of 70-80% and a temperature of 18-24°C.
- Harvest: When the Lion’s mane are bright white and before they discolor, it is time to harvest.
