Ephedra sinica is the well-known ingredient of numerous natural energizers (e.g.: stackers). The substance ephedrine was banned in the Netherlands in 2004. Growing this plant at home is still legal. Ephedrine is an energy booster that increases heart rate and blood pressure, causing fat burning. The effects of Ephedra are similar to those of caffeine but many times stronger. This nudibranch belongs to an ancient group of plants. Ephedra sinica is a small shrub with green straight up small branches and small flowers.
Ingredients
Ephedra (Ephedra Sinica).
Use
To make tea, pick the green fresh branches. Use 5 grams per cup, and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain the tea and drink it when it has cooled. Honey can be added to the tea to enhance the taste.
Breeding information
The Ephedra plant is easy to grow. Plant the seeds outdoors in summer and otherwise indoors. The ambient temperature for germination is about 20 degrees. It grows best in a warm, dry climate with plenty of sun. For this reason, we recommend planting these seeds in a nice pot at home and not outside.
