The Voacanga Africana tree is found in the rainforests of West Africa. The medicine men of this region use the tree bark of the Voacanga Africana to induce visions, hallucinations and for its stimulating effect. Other constituents of this tree are used for medicinal purposes. The active ingredient voacangin contains the same chemical properties as those of ibogaine. Ibogaine is found in the Iboga shrub and is mainly in the root. ibogaine is known to help with support to get rid of addiction. The seeds of the Voacanga Africana contain the highest concentration of psychoactive alkaloids. These, after being properly ground first, can be consumed right away. At high doses, it is possible to hallucinate.

Effects

The seeds and bark of the tree contain the psychoactive alkaloids voacangine and voccamine. The seeds have stimulating, aphrodisiac effects. With a high dose of seeds, even hallucination is possible. Because voacangine is very similar in chemical structure to Ibogaine, voacangine is also said to have anti-addictive effects.

Use

Grind the seeds with a mortar and take them with or without a sip of water. The seeds contain a high concentration(+/-10%) of psychoactive substances. Note that at high doses, unpleasant physical side effects and hallucinations may occur.
